About Me

Thanks for stopping by the blog.  My name is Ken Braddy and I believe in the God’s ability to bring about spiritual transformation in the lives of people through the study of His Word in Bible study groups. I created my blog back in 2011 to encourage and equip you. It doesn’t matter when or where your group meets, or what you call your groups ministry – this blog exists to serve you.

This blog is a ministry, and I have never charged for content. The links you see in the right sidebar to books that I recommend are mostly linked to Amazon since it is a convenient and popular site. I receive no referral fees for that – it is simply for your convenience!

My Day Job

LifeWay’s headquarters in downtown Nashville, TN

I am the Director of Sunday School for Lifeway Christian Resources.  I also manage the work of the editorial teams that create all of the ongoing Bible studies that Lifeway produces for  adults, such as Bible Studies For Life, Explore The Bible, MasterWork, The Gospel Project, YOU, and more. Through my work at Lifeway, and the hard work of the men and women on our team, we have the privilege of serving the Bible study needs of approximately 2.5-3 million adults each week.

I also manage Lifeway’s training for adult Bible study groups. I travel and train on the topics of Sunday school, groups, and church leadership.

I have co-authored numerous books on Sunday School/groups ministry and contributed chapters to other books on Sunday school, small groups, and leadership. My latest solo book, Breathing Life Into Sunday School, released on April 15, 2019, and has already entered its first reprint.

I have written dozens of leadership articles for all of Lifeway’s major lines of Bible study curriculum. In addition, I have crafted customized articles for Sunday School Leader Magazine, Facts & Trends Magazine, Deacon Magazine, Open Windows devotional, and Stand Firm devotional for men. I also have also created Bible studies at smallgroup.com.

My Groups Leadership Experience

I provided leadership as the Groups Pastor at a new church startup in Texas. The church began with 44 people in Bible study on launch Sunday. 10 years later it had grown to over 2,500 members. I served another church for 8 years in the same kind of ministry role before joining the leadership team at Lifeway Christian Resources in Nashville, TN., in March 2010. My wife and I have led many kinds of groups over the years.  We’ve taught 4, 6, 8, and 12-week studies at our church and in our home.   There was a time when the discipleship ministry for which I provided oversight had 500+ men, women, students, and children in small groups each week.

From 2012 through today I have led a group Bible study at my church. My wife and I began a new Sunday School class (LIFE Group) at a church in October 2012. Now on staff at another church in our area, my wife and I have started yet another adult group for empty nest adults.

My Current Church Leadership Role

Since joining the staff of Fair Haven Baptist Church in Shelbyville, TN., the pastor and I have worked together to lead the church to start a second worship service and Sunday School hour, start new Bible study groups, and begin a year-round training plan for all of the church’s group leaders. The average attendance in this Sunday School was approximately 180 when I first arrived, and now, two years later, the Sunday School has grown to a new high attendance of 342. The state convention has affirmed that we are one of the fastest growing Sunday Schools in the entire state, if not the fastest growing one! We praise the Lord for what He is doing.
