Bible study leaders want to be prepared at all times. Wise group leaders have a number of items they keep with them in a small bag or other type of container. Sometimes the Holy Spirit directs a group leader to use an activity not previously planned. Having a toolbox of supplies makes listening to and obeying the Spirit’s direction much easier! If you don’t already have a “teacher toolbox,” create one with some common items you probably have lying around the house, such as:
- Pens
- Dry erase makers
- Markerboard eraser
- Permanent markers
- Index cards
- Post-it Notes
- Scissors
- Nametags
- Masking tape
- Clear tape
- Painter’s tape
- Paper
Just like tools in a toolbox help craftsmen complete their work efficiently, teaching tools like the ones above help group leaders complete a lesson or change direction and veer away from their teaching procedures.
